Many of our clients find that an animated model
and its results can be exceptional tools for building common understanding
at all levels. Sitting together to review a model can provide a unified
frame-of-reference for discussions of both existing problems and potential
solutions. These interactions can be among departments, between the work
force and management, or involve local staff with outside experts.
Realistic models facilitate two-way communication.
A common use of dynamic simulations in international operations is for
a parent company or technology provider to commission a model showing
how a new process will work. Counterparts at the target facility use the
model to improve their understanding of the new technology, process or
concepts. It is not uncommon for them to make recommended changes that
adapt the process to local conditions. These suggestions can be tested
in the initial model and, if they prove valuable, are incorporated into
an improved plan.
